A cop killed a little boy on his bike in West Ridge by blowing through an intersection last night, and the CPD union president made sure to tell the press how traumatized he is by the event. 

I’m sure the boy’s siblings, who all witnessed their brother die, are super sympathetic bro. 

The frum community in West Ridge is very close knit, and kids are always playing outside. And there’s lots of pedestrian traffic, especially on Shabbat and holidays. Jewish communal leaders have pretty close partnerships with CPD, and I wonder if that will change since it appears that CPD and the union don’t want to release lots of information about this ENTIRELY PREVENTABLE tragedy to the public.

Ald. Silverstein didn’t mention that Herschel was killed by a cop when she posted about this.

Here’s the GoFundMe for Herschel, the little boy killed by a CPD officer two days ago. I also want to point out that the intersection Herschel and his siblings were crossing at- they were riding their bikes on the sidewalk, so not even in the street- has stops signs on all four corners. It was also still light outside and Herschel’s bike had reflective streamers on the handlebars and a light on the back of the seat. He would’ve been fully visible and had complete right of way in the street, regardless of how this guy tries to tell it.  

This was a completely avoidable tragedy that CPD first tried to cover up and is now trying to spin as a hardship for the man who killed a little boy in front of his siblings.
