I love being a lesbian. I love that my love and lust are devoted exclusively to women and sapphic non-binary people. I love not loving or otherwise desiring men. I love my lesbianism. I love other lesbians. I love us and I love being a lesbian.
People (including lesbians in denial) love to act like we’re “missing out” on something by excluding men from our romantic and sexual lives.
We’re not missing out on anything. Lesbianism isn’t restrictive to a lesbian, to us it’s FREEDOM. I’m free from ever involving myself in relationships that make me deeply unhappy, uncomfortable and unsatisified, which is relationships with men. I’m free of what to me is a burden and a chore I don’t want to do and don’t get anything out of.
I love my lesbianism. I love not loving men, and if you’re a lesbian, you should love that about yourself too. All elements of lesbianism are beautiful and positive and worthy of being actively celebrated, and that includes our unattraction to men.
Don’t go after the people who said it because they’re lesbians so they’re victims in this, not the perpetrators, but I swear to God if anyone else says something like “But liking men is cool too!” in this post I’m gonna pop a whole vein.
Why is it that every time lesbians say anything good about ourselves we have to add 6,743,643 disclaimers that other people are good too and just because we don’t absolutely despise ourselves doesn’t mean we hate them instead?
Why is it lesbians can’t fucking celebrate ourselves without it being a threat to EVERYONE ELSE’S self-esteem? Why the fuck are the rest of you so fucking fragile that you’ve pushed lesbians to have to appease your stupid egos every time we’re not apologizing for not liking men? Imagine if every time other sexual minorities said something good about themselves we went around demanding that they say something good about us too!
Fuck you. Fuck you all so much.
We must be doing something right if our self-love is such a threat to LITERALLY everyone else. 😊
